This module is absolutely ideal for controlling motors, solenoids and higher voltage and current devices up to 5A at 24V from a digital output of an arduino or any other control output operating on 3.3 or 5 volts.
The unit consists of an input and output side.
The input side has 3 connections, VCC, GND and SIG. The VCC and GND connect to the power connections of the controlling device (ie arduino) and the SIG is the controlling signal.
Applying 3.3 or 5 volts the SIG pin (ie a digital output from an Arduino or similar) turns the output on. Applying 0V to the SIG pin turns the output off. The unit has an output on indicator LED.
The output side has 2 terminal blocks for connecting the device being controlled.
One terminal block connects to the voltage supply for the device being controlled. The other terminal block is used to connect to the device being controlled.
The module will accept pulse width modulated (PWM) signals which make it ideal for controlling motor speeds and higher power servo motors along with dimming higher current or voltage lights.
For continuous currents above 1A a heat sink should be fitted to the mosfet.
